London, a walking city

The beauty of London is that the Tube system is very easy to use.  We chose a weekly renewable pass, so that we could hop on and hop off the tube as many times a day as needed.   Today, for some reason, we chose to walk through London and by pass all of the Tube stations.

On the hunt for sea glass

One of my favorite things to do while walking on a beach is to find sea glass.  Finding the beauty, brings such joy and glee to my life.  I was visiting my friends' new home in Naragansett Rhode Island, It was freezing but we decided to walk down to the beach, there was a light covering of snow on the ground.  While walking towards a stone structure that had been destroyed by a storm, I looked down and found a great piece of sea glass.  It was frozen into the sand, but I used a rock and set it free.

While in St Maarten, my first thought was to walk the beach and find a lucky piece of sea glass.  I can't tell you how thrilled I was with my find.  Here are some of the beauty's that I found on the first day.

I went to the beach each day in search of sea glass as if it was my job. The biggest bonus, besides these tumbled gem was that the fun of the search reversed my mental and emotional age.  I became a young girl playing in the water all day long.   On the last day, I tried the Jacques cousteau version of finding sea glass and drank my share of salt water.  There is a skill/coordination of breathing in and out of the snorkel that had me gaspsing for air.

Here is a sampling of the bounty that was found:
and here are the waves that brought in and processed these glass pieces.

I started my new journey as an empty nester in September.  It was not an easy, hip hip hooray day, infact, it took me awhile to get out of my self pity, woe is me state.  It was all self induced as my youngest son was having the time of his life in his sunny country club new environment and clearly not needing me as much as I subconsciously thought he would.   Why would I possibly think that?  I should have remembered my days of freedom and fun; while I was living away at college many.. many.. years ago.

I will be journaling present day joys and blessings, but will also be intermittently adding some past delights as this is the best way for me to keep a visual copy things that I want to remember and share.

Please join my blog so that you will get an email when I post and thank you in advance for being part of my network.   Buddha says that we are all linked by a single red thread that never breaks.  We are destined to meet and be in each others lives.  I love this saying as each day, I awake, hoping to meet more of my red thread connections.

Secondly, I want to share with you this vision.  It was taken February 6th at the pool overlooking the Westin, St. Maarten beach front.  I look at this and understand why a person would be so happy every day awakening to the sites of blue waters, sunny skies.  Having said that, I also understand that the joy is within you, no matter where you are.  So on my journey, I will stop and record the moments that give me pure joy.  And yes, I was in heaven in St. Maarten's, resting, relaxing and being with some of my favorite loves of my life.
